LIVES CHANGED

Listen to some of the incredible stories of growth and transformation from people who have been through some of our programs.

“Gorgeous Lizzy developed a Functional Neurological Disorder causing chronic pain which eventually left Liz without the ability to walk. When Liz first came to see us, her goal was to become strong enough to be able to get her wheelchair in and out of the car by herself to promote independance. Lizzy soon nailed that within a month of working together. Just a few years later, PTPaul was given one of the biggest surprises of his career when one day training with Liz she promptly got out of her chair and walked over to the activity that was set up! After 7 years the amazing Lizzy had persevered to be able to walk again!! “I wouldn’t want to train with anyone else but the happy healthy living team. Everyday is not the same and they cater to my needs from day to day, whether I’m tired and fatigued or need to burn off some energy. They genuinely, sincerely care about their clients and can make real progress, while having a bucket load of fun. I highly recommend happy.healthy.living to any other young person who is struggling in areas of their life.”

Brandon was referred to us through The Boardmeeting and Kawana State College to collaborate on helping Brandon develop himself further. Brandon has blown all expectations out of the water! This young man has applied himself to the fullest with his coaches Paul and Gavin. Along the way Brandon has lost over 30kg off his body weight! Brandon has also developed his social skills and has become a very vocal member at the gym. There wont be a day that you won’t hear Brandon having banter about the Rugby League or hear him getting super excited over games of handball in which he has become a super competitive player. The team was also super pumped to see Brandon dressed up for his formal for the graduating class of 2020! “The coaches are awesome at happy.healthy.living! I am so proud of what I have been able to achieve. I love competing in handball, getting stronger and fitter and feel awesome after losing over 30kg! My coaches are still working with me to become more independent in life.”

“Smiling Sarah came to us already well armed with an epic ‘can do’ attitude for life and an already blossoming love for competitive swimming. Among other challenges, a developmental lung condition and numerous surgeries had developed scar tissue within Sarah’s diaphragm. Sarah also has severe kyphoscoliosis and has only 1 vertebrae in her back that isn’t fused. Sarah would also experience regular days with fatigue due to her lung disease and autism. Our aim was to develop Sarah’s physical capabilities through increasing the effectiveness of her connective tissue (Myofascia) and also to develop Sarah’s ability to use her diaphragm to breathe better and to recover more efficiently. These days it is more of a rare occurrence for Sarah to have a day of fatigue and Sarah continues to develop beyond her limitations. We were also able to effectively help Sarah develop her speech and social skills through the interaction in the program. Sarah continues to develop as a young lady and competitive swimmer. Sarah represented Australia at the Global Games in 2019 taking away a bronze medal, and we were so proud to see her all dressed up graduating from Year 12 in 2020. “I love to train! I have learnt so much from my coach at happy.healthy.living and love coming into my sessions each week. We work hard and have heaps of fun. I would definitely recommend PTPaul to everyone!”

WHAT WE DO

MOVEMENT

Movement is a practical way to develop strength, resilience and personal character. Movement can literally re-wire the brain and practically enhance confidence, purpose and direction. At Happy.Healthy.Living we have a saying of “Move, Feel, Live Better”.

MINDFULLNESS

The ability to self regulate is one of the great jewels of mindfulness. When we can train the mind to enhance its experience and understanding of our own self we can then develop the strength to take control over our own emotions and attitudes. Mindfulness comes in all forms, from breathing techniques, deliberate movement, juggling balls. We believe it is vitally important that our mindfulness techniques be taught in a practical, useful manner.
